julie & christophe
Julie...in the resto business since she was 18....and that's a LONG time ago...moved to Vancouver in the 80's and became a 'career waiter' working in some of the city's favourite restaurants... like C Restaurant, Quattro, Cru, Provençe and Raincity Grill... where she met Christophe. Christophe was born in France and attended French Restaurant School from the ripe age of 13! He moved to Canada 30 years ago, eventually landing in Vancouver and working at Le Crocodile, Cafe de Paris, Raincity Grill (where he met Julie) and then C Restaurant where they worked together again. They got married....and shortly thereafter moved to Bowen Island to take over a little pizzaria called Tuscany. In 2009 they opened Artisan Eats Cafe! (then sold Tuscany in 2012...one restaurant is enough, thank you very much) where Christophe runs the kitchen, Julie runs the front and MICHAEL ...
Michael comes from Northern France where he used to own his own 'boulangerie'. He arrived on Bowen Island in 2009 with a working visa and shortly afterwards, met Ayumi who was also here on a working visa (and also working at Artisan Eats!) The two fell in love, became Canadian citizens, got married and now have two little french baguettes called Jayce & Lilou. AND Michael became our business partner. He bakes all of our breads (which you can also find at the local grocery stores!) the sandwich breads, quiches, viennoiserie, cakes & tarts.
